A snow robot has a harder navigation job than a robot mower: the ground is white, the landmarks are buried, and the weather is actively hostile. Yarbo’s answer is a fusion system — the company calls it PPVS fusion navigation — that combines several position sources instead of trusting any single one.

The ingredients

  • RTK-GPS — satellite positioning corrected to centimeter-level accuracy. Corrections come one of two ways: NetRTK, delivered over the network with no hardware to mount, or the included Data Center, a local RTK base station that talks to the robot by radio and keeps centimeter accuracy even with no internet at all.   • Vision — onboard cameras that read the actual scene in front of the robot.
  • Onboard sensors — inertial and odometry data that carry the robot through moments when satellites or cameras have a bad view.

Because these overlap, the robot maintains precise positioning even when one source degrades — say, heavy snowfall or tree cover interfering with satellite signal.

What this means for your driveway

During setup, your crew maps the property once: driveway, walks, paths, no-go zones (flower beds, drains, the koi pond), and throw zones. That map is the robot’s territory. Every pass after that follows the plan — clean edges, consistent coverage, no wandering into the lawn.

It also means the robot doesn’t need you. No remote control, no supervision; when snow falls, it just goes.
